Topic of the Day: Upstairs Water, or the Audacity of Dogs
Andre and I have noticed a bizarre trend with the d-o-g-g-i-e-s over the past couple of weeks. We have a few bowls of water for the boys downstairs and then a bowl of water upstairs. Our bedroom is downstairs, but we tend to hang out and watch TV, use the computer, etc upstairs. So most of our waking hours at home are spent upstairs and then we go downstairs at bedtime...I know, I know, this is opposite of most people who spend most of them time downstairs and then go upstairs at bedtime, but this post isn't about me...it's about the upstairs water.
So, we've noticed that the dogs will sit in front of the upstairs water bowl and wait for someone to refill it, rather than going downstairs and drinking water. All of the water bowls are filled each day so it's not as if any water bowl is more fresh than the other. But they have a definite preference for the upstairs bowl and I have even observed them go upstairs to drink water when we are downstairs. I do not pretend to understand the root cause of this trend, but it is interesting and amusing.
